Below is a list of the equipment we recommend to take with you on your trip. To fully enjoy the trip, you need good equipment: equipment, dishes, shoes, optics , etc. But most importantly, be choosy about what kind of clothes you take with you on the trip, make sure that it suits the conditions of the area you are going to.

Long sleeve non-cotton wool sweatshirts

These so-called base layers are layers of clothing that are directly attached to the body. They are designed to keep you warm even though they may be damp, for example from sweat – so they should not be cotton, but light wool or other quick-drying fiber. Base layers will also keep you warm if, for example, your outer layers are not completely windproof or waterproof. It is recommended to bring a selection of long sleeve shirts and trousers for light base layers. It is desirable to have pockets in sweaters so that it is more convenient to carry a pocket flashlight.

Wool sweater, fleece or PrimaLoft jacket (middle layer)

A layer of wool is always nice to have as extra warmth. It doesn’t have to be your heaviest winter sweater, it’s just something that you feel can be warm and cozy if you get cold all the time. It is recommended that you bring a light to medium wool sweater and a fleece or loft jacket.

Versatile or fleece pants (middle layer)

When you are on land and dry, there is no need for a waterproof (outer) layer of the pants, but you will need more than the base layer. It is recommended that you bring light, loose, breathable pants as a kind of versatile pants. Fleece trousers come in handy if you get cold easily. Jeans are strongly discouraged.

Hiking boots

Good hiking boots have high ankle support, waterproof or waterproof, non-slip / grip soles (suitable for both rocky terrain and wet boats). It is good if they are worn out, because it is not advisable to tear new shoes and have blisters on the first day.

Breathable lightweight jacket (top layer)

When you’re on land, and if it’s dry, you won’t need a layer of the waterproof jacket, but you will need more than the base layer. It is recommended to bring a light jacket or even a vest with you. Light down jackets work well.

Windproof and waterproof jacket and trousers (top layer)

It is recommended that you bring a windproof / waterproof jacket and a pair of windproof / waterproof rain pants. Gore-Tex is a leading manufacturer of breathable and waterproof layers.

Warm hat and lightweight (fleece) gloves

Even though it’s summer now and there isn’t a single patch of snow, you still need to prepare with some of the more “wintery” things. It is recommended to have a warm hat and gloves with you. As a lightweight version, a buff that can be worn on the head or neck is also useful.
