The final 2020 has become the hardest test for the global automotive industry in recent history. The work of dealerships and factories was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was no exception. All this led to a drop in sales and the postponement of the premiere of a number of new products for an indefinite period.
The situation began to return to normal only towards the end of the year, and now sales of new cars are showing growth for the third month in a row. Dorkfuel surveyed the representative offices of all automotive brands represented and compiled a calendar of new products for 2021.
Mass market
Kia
Kia, which has long been ranked second in the ranking of the most popular, has so far announced only one premiere next year. The Korean company is going to bring the fourth generation Carnival minivan to our market.
Hyundai
The Koreans from Hyundai have announced several important new products: in the first quarter of 2021, the updated Santa Fe crossover should debut. After restyling, the model has changed a lot in appearance and received new options. The crossover has got T-shaped running lights and “two-story” optics, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display of the multimedia system appeared in the cabin.
Another premiere in 2021 is the fourth generation Tucson crossover. This car with a design in the style of the Vision T concept car and advanced safety systems will appear in the second quarter. Plus, in the second half of the year, Hyundai will launch sales of the updated H-1 minivan, all the details about which are still kept secret.
The key novelty from Hyundai is the new Creta, which will arrive in June 2021. Moreover, the company said that outwardly the crossover will differ significantly from the version for other markets.
Volkswagen
According to statistics, almost every second car sold in the country in 2020 is a crossover. Not surprisingly, most automakers are actively trying to expand the crossover model line. For example, Volkswagen promises to bring a more compact crossover next year than the best-selling Tiguan. Volkswagen only stressed that the new product “will fit into the current model range of the brand. It is possible that we can talk about a compact crossover Taos.
Next year, sales of the eighth generation Golf will begin. At the moment it is already known that the hatbcheck will be offered in two versions: Exclusive with a 150-horsepower engine and automatic, as well as in the “charged” version of the Golf GTI, with a 245-horsepower engine.
Renault
Renault will start selling the new Duster next year – the model was already presented in December. Duster has not changed much in appearance, but has moved to a new platform that will allow changing the line of motors, as well as introducing more modern equipment such as electronic assistants.
Skoda
Until the end of 2021, the Czechs will present an updated version of their most popular crossover, the Kodiaq. The exact date of the premiere and all official information about the new product is kept in strict confidence. It is only known that the SUV will receive minor changes in design and an expanded list of available equipment.
Toyota
Toyota has just announced the appearance of sports special versions of the Corolla sedan and the compact C-HR crossover. The cars were refined by specialists from the Toyota sports division – Gazoo Racing. New items from GR Sport will differ from standard versions with a body kit, seats with reinforced lateral support, as well as branded GR Sport emblems. Toyota promised to reveal the technical stuffing closer to the start of sales.
Mazda
Mazda has so far announced only one premiere for the n market in 2021 – the small crossover CX-30. The car can be purchased in four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions with two motors to choose from: 2.0 aspirated (150 hp) or 2.0 turbo (231 hp).
Chery
The demand for Chinese are not weakening, and against this background Chery will present three new crossovers at once next year. The flagship Tiggo 8 Pro will debut first, the top versions of which are equipped with a 195-horsepower gasoline engine. Two more Chery premieres are Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 2 Pro. They will be delivered in the second and fourth quarters of 2021, respectively.
Geely
The most popular Chinese crossover – Geely Atlas – will receive an upgraded version with the Pro prefix in the name. The novelty will be offered to customers with an uncontested three-cylinder 1.5 liter turbo engine with 177 horsepower. Drive – front or full, depending on the configuration.
Subaru
Japanese Subaru will bring at least two new items in next year. The updated crossover XV will debut next spring, and the new generation Outback station wagon will go on sale closer to summer. The car is built on the new modular SGP platform.
Opel
The lineup of Opel returned far consists of only three models: Zafira Life, Grandland X and Vivaro. Next year, it will be replenished with the updated Crossland compact crossover. After restyling, the SUV looks like the new generation Mokka crossover and became the second model of the German brand, made in accordance with the new corporate identity of the Opel Vizor. Suzuki does not plan to bring new models to the n market – the company’s plans so far only include the debut of a special modification of the Vitara crossover. The novelty is likely to appear in the second half of 2021.
Jeep
In the second half of 2021, a new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee should reach. The car will be built on the Giorgio architecture, which formed the basis for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The range of new engines will include V6 and V8 engines. Also, the car will acquire hybrid versions.
In the fourth quarter, sales of the updated Compass SUV will begin. After restyling, the all-wheel drive car has changed in appearance, and also received a new interior with digital tidy.
Another n premiere from Jeep is the Jeep Wrangler 80th Anniversary Edition, released in honor of the brand’s 80th anniversary. The special modification differs from the usual SUV with a special body paint, black interior trim and 80th Anniversary Edition nameplates.

Volvo
In 2021, Volvo plans to debut on the n electric car market with its green crossover XC40 Recharge P8. The main competitors of the novelty, which will be presented in the fourth quarter, will be the Audi E-tron, Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X. Jaguar
Jaguar has planned a major lineup update by the next spring. For example, the restyled compact crossover E-Pace will reach our market, which has moved to the new PTA platform, and has also changed in appearance. The changes also affected the car’s engine range: the output of the two-liter four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engines increased to 163 hp. instead of 150 (younger version) and 199 hp. instead of 180 (older modification). As for the crossovers with gasoline engines, they, on the contrary, have become slower. The output of the turbo four has not changed – it is 200 or 249 hp, but the acceleration to hundreds in both cases has increased: 8.5 instead of 8.2 s and 7.5 instead of 7.1 s, respectively.
After restyling, the Jaguar F-Pace received a slightly changed appearance in the style of the electric I-Pace, as well as a new interior – with a different digital dashboard, a huge touch screen and a modern Pivi Pro multimedia system.

Several new products will debut in 2021 under the new premium brand CheryExeed (owned by Chery). In the second half of next year, there will be a five-meter flagship VX crossover. In China, this car is sold with a 1.6-liter 197-horsepower turbo four, uncontested front-wheel drive and a seven-speed robotized gearbox.
At about the same time, the LX off-road vehicle will be brought to the market. The novelty will become the most affordable car of the brand. On the local market, the car is offered with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 156 hp output, which is paired with a variator. We have the same unit equipped with Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, and especially for the n market, it was deformed to 147 forces. Also in the range of LX engines is a 197-horsepower gasoline engine.
Genesis
Genesis (Hyundai premium brand) will bring several important new products in 2021. The compact crossover GV70 will debut in the second quarter. In the model range of the brand, the novelty will take a place below the large crossover GV80 and will compete with the Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
Around the same time, an updated version of the G70 sedan will debut. The car received a new radiator grille, two-tier optics, and multimedia with a 10.25-inch display appeared in the cabin. The range of motors has not undergone changes, but the sedan has a drift mode, and the system of choice of movement has been replenished with a new level of Sport +.
In addition, the Genesis GV80 and the G80 sedan will be available to dealerships next year, both of which were unveiled this past year.
Infiniti
Infiniti has planned two premieres in the n market next year. First, the coupe-like crossover QX55 debuts, which is positioned as the ideological successor to the FX model. Among the main competitors of the all-wheel drive car with a 249-horsepower engine are the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
Another premiere of the Japanese is the new generation QX60, which has not yet been presented in serial performance. The concept of the future crossover, called the QX60 Monograph, was shown to the public online in September 2020.
Cadillac
The main American premiere for our market is the fifth generation Escalade. The novelty should appear next year. The car will be offered with a 6.2-liter petrol engine with 426 hp. Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz has already begun accepting orders for the flagship S-Class sedan of the new generation (W223), but the car will reach dealers in February 2021. The novelty will be offered to customers only in long-wheelbase versions with an all-wheel drive system and an automatic 9G-Tronic. The S 350d 4Matic version is equipped with a 249 hp turbodiesel engine, and the S 450 4Matic version is equipped with a gasoline turbo six (367 hp), which works in conjunction with a 48-volt EQ Boost starter-generator.

Audi
Most of all premieres in 2021 were announced by Audi. The new generation A3 hatchback and sedan will be an important novelty of the Ingolstadt-based company at the beginning of the year.
A charged version of the Q8 coupe-crossover with the RS prefix will debut next.
